Criterium Nationals @ Downer's Grove

Our team celebrates after Doc & SH-K's 1,2 Victory, with host family's kids, Alec & Mia. Thanks to our host family Michelle & Scott, eventhough I didn't stay with you guys I appreciate the help for our team. Congrats to Doc & SH-K for there awesome finishes at Downer's Grove, day number one.
On another note, what is with all the Grove's in Chicago. Everthing is a Downer's Grove, Elk Grove, Elm Grove (well that's actually in WI, but close enough). On that note, there are just too many damn suburbs. What's with all the suburbs? Now normally I'm one not to like the cities, but the burbs are worse to me, so I will have to make this one acception for Chicago. I would choose to live in the city. Yes, Powers I admit it. I'd take the over-growth of Starbucks, and sardiene packaged homes of Chicago's downtown over the burbs. I wouldn't want to live anywhere outside a 40 mile radius from the city center. Blah! Okay, enough about Chicago and the crappy suburbs.
The Aaron's girls rode awesome the weekend of Criterium National. Everyone did a great job doing their jobs. It feels like it was the first time all year that we all just fell into place and the pieces just fit. After the first day we were treated to dinner by our GM Micah Rice to an awesome Tex-Mex place on the last corner of the race course. It was nice to have the entire team together for the first time since training camp in February. Well at least for me, since I seemed to miss all the important events of the year due to personal SCHTUFF. Yippie. So, dinner is where I came up with Kenzies new nickname. I was thining about initals of all the girls on the team and Kenzie was the closest person next to me, so I obviously started with her. Her initals are MD, Medical Doctor. So, thus the name Doc. It suits her well, and she actually likes it. So, when you see her it's okay to call her Doc, don't worry she wont spit on you like some twins I know from another country. I'm bad at giving nicknames that people don't like, but they are so truly fitting. Tina and LVG know about this. We'll I guess I should say all my former teammates know what it's like to have to deal with the nickname wrath of Candice. I've had a hard year with all the unexpected events that have happened this year. First with Ryan breaking his femur, my apt. blowing up and finally my intestinal blockage that was causing problems for me all year. I learned a lot of valuable lessons from it all, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Okay for my readers, all 10 of you. It's that time of the year. If you could be a director of your own team, who would be on your roster. Remember you could have anybody you want.
Candice out-
Elk Grove when decent for Kenzie who's kickname is now "Doc". She carried the team on her young Irish shoulders to took a 2nd and 3rd. Good job to Doc. It's really ashamed the racing had to be so negative though. I felt as though I was back at Superweek. I don't think half of the teams out there really understood their own game plan, and it's really unfortunate.

Candice,

Thanks for the kind words. The whole family really enjoyed having you all. We had a blast cheering the team on. We look forward to hosting the team next year.

Congrats to you and Doc. I noticed that you changed teams to Colavita/Sutter Home/Cooking Light. No one can deny that this is one of the strongest teams with the others being Victory Brewing and Lipton.

Good luck next year on the new team.

Scott & Melissa (your host family from Bartlett)
