Diggin' Dave

Since our plumbing issues at the new home, Dave has been out front just about every day diggin'. He gets up in the morning, drinks his coffee/eats breakfast, takes a poo, and says "Honey I'm going out front to dig." It must be at least a week of solid digging. He is out front so much, that he's decided to dig him a hole to live in, especially since I don't want his dirty butt in the house. He digs so much that our neighbor Andrew calls in "Diggin' Dave".When my brother Ryan visited, he took a big crap in the toilet. We thought that may have been the culprit for our back up, especially since it happened right after he made a visit to the porcelain god. In reality it was this oleander root that broke into our sewer line. It's amazing what a little root can do to the sewer.
I wish our front yard still looked this good. Right now it looks like a BMX course. The bready was a lifesaver in pulling out all of our roots.
Ha, this photo is funny. This root from our neighbors oleander was 28' where it split when we pulled it out of the ground. It could go for another 28' as far as we know. Crazy eh?
The root was very large in diameter, and ran the length of our house about a foot away from our foundation. We trenched the yard along our neighbor's line and found many more roots just like this one. Fun stuff!
