Started my move this past weekend. Dave flew down last Friday and helped me drive the "Penske mobile" with car in tow. Actually Dave did all the driving but 2 measly hours. I suck, and I was dozing off on him. Sorry, baby! I was a bit hesitant because the truck we rented only had 1000 miles on it. It was brand spanking new. One scratch and they'd nail me. We left at 3pm Friday and got to Wisconsin by later Saturday evening, unpacked, took the truck back and I was on a flight by 7am on Sunday. I have to come back to finish my last week of school. This Friday I am off to Athens/Roswell, GA for the races. Back up to NC for a couple of days to take finals, then another road trip to Hotlanta to race Anniston. Then finally to Wisco. I can't freeking wait.
Tonight I'm headed over to Grace and 'Dre Fleury's home. They are throwing me a going away party. Probably happy to get me the hell out of here. My friends Robin and Richie Nance, The Hamblens, The Berrys, Matt Canter (my faithfull mechanic at Ken's bike shop: Here comes a plug www.kensbikeshop.com), Ken & Christine Putnam of Ken's bike shop, and Beverly who I ride with on the weekends, will all be there.
May 3rd is my last day in North Carolina. I've lived here for 5 years now and have made many wonderful friends who I intend to stay in contact with. I want to thank everyone who has helped me through my rough times and support me when I couldn't do it on my own (you all know who you are). Without you I would not be the person I am today. And every one of you have tought me a lesson to remember at some point, and I thank you for that. It is however, time to move on.
